“Lockdown Self-Portrait” selected for the Society of Women Artists exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London
Sally’s “Lockdown Self-Portrait”, which was previously highly commended by the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize, has been selected to be exhibited by The Society of Women Artists at the Mall Galleries in London, from the 6-11 September 2022.
Kingston Artists Open Studios 2022
Sally will be opening her studio to visitors on the weekend of 18th and 19th June between 11am-5pm as part of Kingston Artists Open Studios, venue 8 on the trail. Please do come along and say hello! Sally will be displaying orignal works, some of the Portrait Artist of the Year portraits, and will be selling a number of prints. For more information see the KAOS website.
Self-Portrait exhibits at The Rose Theatre, Kingston
As part of Kingston Artist Open Studios (KAOS), Sally’s self-portrait will be exhibiting at The Rose Theatre Kingston alongside works by other KAOS artists. The Rose Theatre is Venue 26 on the trail. The exhibition will be open from 11-19 June.

New self-portrait commissioned by The Artist Magazine
Sally was delighted to be specially commissioned to paint a new work for The Artist Magazine. In the accompanying article, she offers an insight into her working methods and the questions she asks herself when painting a self-portrait. The July 2022 edition of the magazine is available to buy now.
Painting of Booker Prize winner, Bernardine Evaristo, features in Portrait Artist of the Year – The Exhibition” at Compton Verney
Sally is honoured that her 4-hour painting of Bernardine Evaristo, which won her a place in the final of Portrait Artist of the Year 2020, will be exhibited at Compton Verney (an historic manor in Warwickshire) from February 18th until June 5th 2022. See more details here.
The exhibition, curated by Kathleen Soriano, celebrates 8 years of the programme. Her painting is one of only 120 works selected from over a thousand paintings by those who have featured in the competition since 2013. In February, Sally attended the private view, which brought together many familiar faces from the programme. Her painting has also been used to market the exhibition.
On April 13 there will be a special programme broadcast on Sky Arts at 7pm about the exhibition.
“Self-Portrait” and “Study of Professor Dame Mary Beard” exhibiting at The Gallery, Holt.
Sally is delighted that her work will feature in “The Transience of Beauty” exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Gallery, Holt, in Norfolk. Her work will be featured alongside some of the UK’s leading portrait and figurative artists. The exhibition is on from 26th February until 5th April 2022. See more of the exhibition here.
